Climate change and social protection in the Pacific training

An online training for professionals working in or with Pacific island countries

  • Date: Tuesday 2 June, 2026
  • Time: 11am - 1:30 pm Fiji time
  • Duration: 2.5 hours
  • Delivery: Online via Zoom

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the Pacific.

Its impacts—such as more frequent disasters, rising sea levels, and threats to livelihoods—are already being felt across the region.

This interactive training explores how social protection systems can help people prepare for, cope with, and recover from climate‑related shocks as well as support long‑term resilience and adaptation.

The course focuses on government‑led social protection, highlighting how well‑designed systems in the Pacific can reduce hardship, prevent harmful coping strategies, and support communities before, during, and after climate impacts.

Note: When registering, please use the email address you’ll join the session with. If you register with one email and try to join with another, you may not be able to access the training.
